Five Barber Shop Owners Penalized for Leasing To Unlicensed Workers -
$3250 Assessed in Penalties

AUSTIN –The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation entered into Agreed Orders with five individuals for leasing space to individuals who did not hold a booth rental permit.

Gerald L. Brown, d/b/a Jerry Brown’s Barber Shop in Greenville, Texas, leased space to two individuals, Byron Scott Evans and Deborah Sue Anguiano, who did not possess booth rental licenses. An administrative penalty of $500 was assessed.

Sammie Lee Anderson, d/b/a Heads Up in Waco, Texas, was fined a $500 penalty for leasing space to Joe Jennings, an individual who did not hold a booth rental license.

Michael Nicola Hernandez, d/b/a Suaves in Tyler, Texas, was cited for leasing space to Orlando R. Kiser, a barber without a booth rental license. A $750 penalty was levied against Hernandez.

Bruce W. Potter, d/b/a Style-Rite Barbers, located in Plano, Texas, leased space to Manuel Quintana, who did not hold the required booth renal license. Potter was penalized  $500 for violation of 16 Texas Administrative Code 82.71(a).

Lastly, Armando Camacho, d/b/a Camacho’s Barber Shop in Granbury, Texas, allowed Robert Henderson, an unlicensed independent contractor, to rent space and perform barbering services. Camacho’s  administrative penalty  was $1000.
