To renew a booting operator license, a licensee must complete a total of two (2) hours of continuing education through department-approved courses. The continuing education hours must include one (1) hour in Texas law and rules that regulate the conduct of booting operators; and one (1) hour in any industry related topics. Refer to Section 83.29(g) of the Vehicle Booting and Immobilization Administrative Rules for additional information.
Each year the provider must renew their registration to offer continuing education courses. Continuing education course approvals are valid for periods of one (1) year, assuming the provider's approval remains current throughout that time.
New continuing education courses must be approved by the Department before being offered. The provider will need to submit a course approval application prior to scheduling of any courses/seminars, a timed topic outline, the course material, and the required course approval fee.
