List of registered Continuing Education providers and courses for Property Tax Consultants

The Property Tax Consultant Administrative Rules, Chapter 66, were updated with adopted admendments on February of 2006 to update statutory references and conform rule requirements to current law. A new continuing education rule was added to make continuing education requirements consistent with 16 Administrative Code, Chapter 59, which contains the Department’s general rules for continuing education providers and courses.

Effective July 1, 2007, the continuing education hours must in include three hours of instruction in Texas state law and rules that regulate the conduct of registrants, one hour of instruction in ethics, four hours of instruction in appraisal, and four hours of instruction in PTC related topics approved by the Department. This adjustment in the continuing education hours is based on the recommendation of the Property Tax Consultant Advisory Council on March 2, 2007. These changes were adopted by the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation on May 16, 2007.

Each year the provider must renew their registration in order to offer continuing education courses. Course approvals are valid for periods of one (1) year, assuming the provider’s approval remains current throughout that time.

New continuing education courses must be approved by the Department before being offered. The provider will need to submit a course approval application prior to scheduling of any courses/seminars, a timed topic outline, the course material and the required course approval fee.
