Barber and Cosmetology Refund Process Improvement Study

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) recently finished collecting feedback for the Barber and Cosmetology Refund Process Improvement Study. This study (required by SB 1170 82nd Legislature) focuses on two issues:

  • the school refund process; and
  • analyzing school performance.

Participants’ assistance was essential in helping us identify concerns and clarify ideas in these areas. This information will be used to present recommendations to legislative oversight committees.

A face to face meeting took place May 14 in Austin.The meeting included an expert panel discussion, a brainstorming session and a breakout session. Watch the archive of the meeting.

We also offered two surveys to gather information. One survey was for school representatives and the other was for individual licensees and students.
