TDLR Strategic Planning

April 12 - Thank you for your responses, and for your help in planning TDLR's future. The brainstorming sessions have been held, the survey has closed, and we are busy sorting through the large number of responses and comments. We'll be in touch soon to let you know of the changes we'll make in response to your suggestions!

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) invited you to help plan our future by being part of our strategic planning process. Our strategic planning is only as good as the input we receive from those who interact with us. We greatly appreciate you taking time to answer some questions and telling us how to improve our services. We wanted to know what services are important to you, what you think we’re doing well, what improvements TDLR needs to make and what changes you think will take place over the next five years in your industry.

We developed three ways for you to participate in the 2012 strategic planning process:

  1. Strategic Planning Brainstorming Sessions – Attend a live meeting in Austin led by TDLR employees in which you and others in your industry shared your thoughts and provided answers to TDLR’s strategic planning questions. The meetings were held April 9, 2012 in Austin.
  2. Online Survey – TDLR's online survey gave you an opportunity to rate your customer service experience with us.
  3. Facebook – TDLR posted strategic planning questions which you and others commented on with your suggestions and recommendations.

In the brainstorming sessions, we based our discussions around the following four questions:

  1. What are we doing well?
  2. What can we do better?
  3. If you could change one service that we provide or eliminate or amend any provision of TDLR’s statutes or rules, what would it be?
  4. What major changes will occur over the next five years that will impact the way you do business and the services we provide?

This strategic planning process is your chance to share your thoughts and ideas on how TDLR can improve the way we do business. If you have any questions about the strategic planning process, please email us at strategicplan@license.state.tx.us.
